Charlotte:
Enough! Mecklenburg Masons utterly reject Meck Dec doubters
Charlotte area Masons finally had enough.

On September 19, 2004, a mighty crowd of Mecklenburg Masons met at the Hezekiah Alexander homesite to end two centuries of denial and doubt by those who declared the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence was a fraud.

Instead of street fighting, Masons used the power of reason and common sense to defeat critics once and for all. Here is their Declaration of Mecklenburg Masons, word-for-word, in its entirety:

The first two Mecklenburg Masons to sign the unprecedented document were former Governor James Grubbs Martin and John Montgomery Belk, head of the nation’s largest privately-owned chain of department stores. A long line of fraternal leaders signed up that sunny afternoon including Alan Madsen, Bud Davidson, Joe Vale, PGM Bud McCall, Doug Mayes, Allen Hardy and Calvin Gaddy.
