Charlotte:
Stadium has two Masonic ties
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt personally dedicated American Legion Memorial Stadium September 10, 1936. He was one of America’s many Masonic presidents.

It cost Charlotte only $5,000. It cost American taxpayers another $52,000 from federal Works Progress Administration funds. A good investment, considering its current value is $11 million—and is still in lively use today.

The second Masonic connection is the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Its first game was played there in 1937 and its last in 2000. The memories live on.
