Greensboro:
MESH is one of 80 managed communities succeeding throughout America
The Grand Lodge of North Carolina announced in 2007 plans to expand and redevelop Masonic and Eastern Star Home to create an even more beautiful and enjoyable community for its fraternal members.

Groundbreaking is slated for August, 2009. The expansion calls for addition of 50 to 75 one and two-bedroom independent living apartment homes. New amenities will include state-of-the-art fitness center, library, arts studio and woodworking shop.

For almost a century MESH has pioneered retirement living for NC Masons and their family members. Masonic and Eastern Star Home is partnering with Life Care Services of Des Moines, Iowa, in this redevelopment. LCS has been recognized as a reputable leader in the development and maintenance of senior living communities nationwide. More than 23,000 residents live in more than 80 LCS communities.

The MESH history is every bit as impressive. It has survived and thrived through two world wars, the great depression, today’s war on terrorism and continuing economy challenges.

Residents have always paid as much as they could toward the cost of their care. MESH must subsidize 117 of its 237 residents. This means, simply, that they are blessed with living longer, but longer than their ability to pay. Thus, MESH provides long-term care assurance. It looks to tens of thousands of North Carolina Masons to do their best to help keep MESH strong and capable of carrying out its responsibilities in the future as admirably as it had in its past.
