Wildacres retreat always open to Masons
|
Brothers Dick and Herman Blumenthal were lifelong members of Phalanx 31 in Charlotte. They bought 1,600 acres in 1946 to develop a conference center for non-profit groups to better human relations and interfaith dialogue.
Its situated at 3,300 foot elevation atop Pompeys Knob, near the Blue Ridge Parkway and Little Switzerland. Included are an attractive conference facility, dining hall serving three meals daily, two lodges with 57 bedrooms and baths, lapidary workshop, pottery shop, 200-seat amphitheater, patio, meeting places, reference library and recreation facilities. It is well-staffed to provide for guests of all ages.
And the views are stunning.
